Placement Application

Thank you for your interest in welcoming a Maine Street Coons cat into your family. This application is for both kittens and available retired adults and helps us get to know you, your household, your lifestyle, and what you're looking for in a companion. We take every placement seriously and consider temperament, household dynamics, lifestyle, timing, and the individual needs of each cat. Please answer the questions thoughtfully and honestly. There are no "perfect" answers; we are simply looking for the right fit. Submitting an application does not guarantee placement, but it is the first step in helping us determine whether Maine Street Coons may be a good match for your family.

Our Breed: Maine Coon

Kitten preferences

Gender:

Do you have a preference for male or female? We encourage flexibility, as temperament and overall fit are more important than sex.

Polydactyl:

Some Maine Street Coons are polydactyl, with naturally occurring extra toes. Availability varies by breeding, so please let us know whether this is a preference rather than a requirement.

Sibling Pair:

Whenever possible, we enjoy placing siblings together because they provide one another with lifelong companionship. Families who are open to adopting a pair are encouraged to let us know.

Other Information

Preferred Date:

Are you prepared to welcome a cat or kitten into your home as soon as the right match becomes available?

Other pets at home:

Please list every animal living in your home or on your property, including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals, fish, and livestock. For each, please include species, breed (if applicable), age, sex, temperament, and whether they live indoors, outdoors, or both. Please do not omit outdoor-only animals or animals that do not routinely interact with your household. This information is important to us in our placement decision. If you are unsure whether an animal is relevant, please include it.

Average # of Hours Alone:

On a typical day, approximately how many hours would your cat or kitten be home without people present? Please consider normal work schedules, school, commuting, sports and activities, and other routine time away from home. What is your cat or kitten's actual day going to look like?

Kids:

Please tell us about any children living in the home or who are regularly present, including their ages and experience with cats. This helps us understand your household and determine which cat or kitten may be the best fit.

Delivery:

Please tell us how you anticipate bringing your cat or kitten home, including whether you are able to travel to us or may need help arranging transportation.

Allergies:

Does anyone in your household have known or suspected allergies to cats? If yes, please explain the severity and how the allergy is currently managed.
