Glitterpaws Waiting List
You cant beat a Burmese and Mandalays for personality! The waiting list can move fast with some colours and genders as some people are often on a few lists or particular about colours. Torties and creams are colours people haven’t seen before but they are beautiful as adults. Torties have the reputation for being "naughty torties" which is certainly the case for the ones we're getting! We also breed Mandalays which are a "self" or solid colour cat with exactly the SAME personality as a Burmese. In fact, you get Burmese and Mandalays in the same litters.
Sharlene Lee (KittyMeadow prefix) and Miriam Martin (Glitterpaws) share social media and the waiting list. This means that you wont have to wait too long as there will be two breeders working through the list. We use the same studs and lines and work together. Sharlene is a retired Midwife and Plunket nurse and Miriam is a GP so we have combined expertise to raise the healthiest kittens possible.

STUDS:
Millrock Harvest Gold (Silver Double Grand Champion) or "Harvey" is a cream Burmese and a very smoochy boy winning lots of "temperament" awards but throws a lot of torties, lilacs and blues. I get the best feedback from owners from regarding his babies!
Bahati Georgio Armani (Sapphire Double Grand Champion) Imp Australia: is an ebony Mandalay -a Mandalay is a Burmese without the colourpoint gene so you'll get a solid colour without the darker tips. Personality is Burmese all the way! Colours are Ebony, Chocolate, Blue, Lavender, (and the torties look similar to burmese). Georgio does well at shows and wins temperament awards. He's a real softy.
Caristona Manu: is a chocolate Burmese owned by Nikki at SoxnDots in West Melton and is a smoocher. Manu comes from lines from Palmerston North and Australia.
NOTE; Torties are ALWAYS female as the coat colouring "O" gene is sex-linked. Red or cream kittens are usually male unless you mate a tortie with a red or cream, then you'll get cream and red girls too.
Kittens are rehomed at 11-12 weeks, we always get a vet check, worm, microchip, first vaccine and neuter or spey plus pedigree registration, all this for the bargain price of $1600!
When your turn comes up on the waiting list Sharlene or I will contact you to allocate a kitten (via text). $100 deposit is required to confirm (We will send you a confirmation email with details if you want to go ahead). The deposit is non-refundable if you cancel after the kitten is 8 weeks old. Once you accept we will email you the "How to look after your Burmese and Mandalay kitten" manual which will give you everything you need to know -Burmese are bullet proof so you cant really do anything wrong. We will be in contact around 9-10 weeks to organise final payment and transport. PLEASE don't book any flights or firm up any transport until we let you know they're ready for pickup as this jinxes the process! (Health issue, problems with spey/neuter or accidents can slow down the homing process).
We advise you to keep your kitten INSIDE for 6-9 months if you live anywhere near a road as Burmese are just way to curious and adventurous for their own good. If you're on a busy road then they may need to be permanently inside. We suggest you look at getting a "Catio" -there are plenty of examples on Pinterest or purchase from www.catnets.co.nz
We submit all owner's names for PD Pet insurance and you will get 3 weeks free if you sign up,. This used to be optional but Burmese kittens are very good at getting themselves into trouble (falling, jumping, eating things they shouldn't) so we now sleep better at night knowing you're covered. We are unable to cover health and vet issues if you have declined to take up pet insurance. (However, if your cat develops a rare or unusual weird condition within the first two years we're happy to replace or refund.)
Please note - this list is only accessed when we're allocating kittens (you won't get a confirmation email -we're not technically savvy enough for that!), keep an eye on new litters following "Crazy Cat Lady Therapy" on Facebook. Email miriamm@villagehealth.net.nz if you have a specific comment or question.
IMPORTANT Burmese and Mandalays love the outdoors and love visiting the neighbours. They especially wander when their owners are away so they're at even more risk of getting run over when you're away. We strongly advise that you keep your kitten INDOORS for at least 6 months - preferably longer or even lifelong if you live on a small section. Options for having some sort of outdoor adventures: get a catio built or a catnet (catnets.co.nz) or https://smartcatsstayhome.co.nz/ for a boundary.
Regards Miriam Martin
